After a brief introduction to the principal characters, the film follows Asterix as he encounters a group of Roman legionaries in the forest. Despite being significantly outnumbered, Asterix leaves the Romans beaten and bruised for daring to interrupt his wild boar hunt. In the Maya civilization, a peaceful tribe is brutally attacked by warriors seeking slaves and human beings for sacrifice for their gods. Jaguar Paw hides his pregnant wife and his son in a deep well. The survivors of their tribe are captured as is Jaguar Paw, too, while fighting with his people. An eclipse spares his life from the sacrifice and later he has to fight to survive and save his beloved family.
I have not included some of the really horrifying stills in the screens, for obvious reasons, but, let me say this, this movie is not for the faint hearted.
